Simulation of X-ray Spectra

Online tool for the simulation of X-ray Spectra

This application is able to provide you with valuable preliminary information for designing or describing the radiation physics of an X-ray system.

How to use:
The first step is to select the basic parameters of the radiation source and calculate an initial spectrum. A new window will open in which you can add or remove X-ray absorbers depending on your specific interests or needs.

The tool itself is based on algorithms developed by John M. Boone et al. (University of California, Sacramento) and on X-ray attenuation data provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) at the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Special thanks to Dr. Lothar Bätz from Siemens Healthcare GmbH for providing the basic source code and a great deal of assistance in the creation of this tool.
